Today, the Folger Shakespeare Library Editions are the most popular Shakespeare texts used in American high school classrooms. In and inRomeo and Juliet was the top seller, followed by Hamlet, Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Othello, and Julius Caesar.

It has a great overview of each play and is accessible and humorous, really bringing out the comedy in Shakespeare. Great for high school or older, this book has been incredibly helpful to cover the need-to-know essentials as well as prompting further thought for analysis.
